Mav traditional lining papers are made to the highest quality and will produce the perfect decorating base if handled and hung properly. all of our lining papers can be emulsion painted or used as a base for overhanging with other wallcoverings, producing a good bonding surface and a smoother finish. if the paper has been emulsion painted, it will remain a good surface for overhanging other wallcoverings if required.

Which lining paper to use...

2000 ultimate heavyweight
walls in very bad condition where imperfections need to be disguised
1700 extra heavyweight
older plaster which has been badly damaged and filled
1400 heavyweight
older plaster which has been damaged and filled
1200 heavyweight
older plaster which has been damaged and filled
1000 medium weight
older plaster in good condition
800 light weight
newer and well-prepared older plaster

The preparation of the surface to be decorated is very important prior to hanging any lining paper.

If hanging a heavyweight paper on old and damaged plaster, ensure all holes and cracks are filled and smoothed down, and dust free. any slight nuances on the surface will be smoothed out with the lining paper.

Ideally size or seal the surface prior to hanging, and follow the paste manufacturer's directions for the relevant paper weight you are using. full hanging instructions are on the reverse of all mav product labels.
