Sponging

Sponging is simple to do, yet can give may different looks. You can do anything from creating a soft, subtle, hazy look by using 2 subdued colours, or a striking 3D effect by building up layers using several colours.

How to create this effect:

Paint the surface with Acrylic (water based) Eggshell in the colour of your choice and allow to fully dry for 6-8 hours
Create a coloured topcoat of 1 part of emulsion in the colour of your choice to 6 parts of Classic Colour
Dip a Natural Sponge into the mix and dab it gently onto the wall. Randomise the effect by varying the way you hold the sponge
Protect with an Acrylic Varnish
