Rag Rolling
How to create this effect:
- Apply a basecoat of Acrylic (water-based) Eggshell in a colour which is slightly lighter than the overall shade that you are trying to achieve. Allow to dry for 8 hours.
- Use Polyvine Classic Colour tinted with 1 part of emulsion in your chosen top colour to 6 parts of classic colour.
- Now you have two options:
Ragging Off
- Apply the mix onto the wall using a synthetic brush or roller
- Now roll a bunched ragging chamois or cloth across the surface in a random pattern. Squeeze out any excess paint as you work
- Protect with an Acrylic Varnish
Ragging On
- Immerse the rag in the mix. Squeeze any excess paints as you work
- Cover the painted wall in widely spaced prints and gradually fill the gaps so that an overall pattern develops.
- Protect with an Acrylic Varnish
